This is the first edition of our online magazine which is part of our Comenius 1 project "Use of New Media in Europe-wide teaching concepts". In this first edition the four partner schools introduce themselves.
We are creating a data pool for teachers and students which consists of students’ activities and teaching modules with multilateral access to the information provided. Our main concern is to speed up the process of the complete integration of new media such as data bases, internet, digital language lab, 3D-table cameras for science subjects and presentation tools in the classroom and we exchange experience with partner schools. In the long run we hope to get more and more teachers and students involved in the further development of the pool and its use in the classroom. Our main vehicle of communication is the “lo-net2” platform.
Besides the creation of school websites and our common online magazine there are more projects about Foreign languages History, Maths, Health education, Immigrants/ethnic minorities and Culture.
There are several student activities, for example a project of “learning by teaching”, i.e. a collection of self-composed grammar and culture quizzes designed by students in their second year of English language acquisition for use in all participating schools, a project on breakfast customs a reader project which deals with drug prevention in English and Biology, dynamic worksheets for Geometry and many more. Some of the results of these project are going to be published in the editions to come
(second edition: end of April 2007).
